The Colorado Plateau abounds with National Parks just waiting for photographers. Yellowstone, our oldest National Park is a wonderland for nature photographers. Just south of Yellowstone are the youngest mountains in North America, the Grand Tetons. Opportunities abound for photography from the side of the road or, for those more adventurous and able, back in wilderness areas. All the images from Yellowstone and the Tetons were taken less than 50 feet from the side of the road or at observation pull-offs.

A bit south are the Parks in the Navaho Nation including Canyon de Chelly, and Monument Valley. West of these is The Grand Canyon where I saw a sunrise on New Year’s day.

This is a sample - there are many more to visi in this part of the country.
